What I Learned About Entrepreneurship

What I Learned About Entrepreneurship

Our past lessons were all about entrepreneurship, I learned in our lesson that an entrepreneur has to obtain characteristics that he/she will need for his/her business to succeed and become one of the famous businesses here in the Philippines.

An entrepreneur shall obtain the 10 PECs or the 10 Personal Entrepreneurial characteristics to succeed in his/her business. These 10 characteristics are grouped into three clusters. These three clusters are the: Achievement Cluster, Planning Cluster, and Power Cluster. The characteristics in achievement cluster are opportunity-seeking, persistence, commitment to the work contract, risk-taking, and demand for quality and efficiency. Goal-setting, information-seeking, and systematic planning and monitoring are grouped in the planning cluster. For the power cluster the characteristics are persuasion and networking, and self-confidence. All of these characteristics must be obtained by an entrepreneur to succeed in his business, and to make it a better one.

Aside from the 10 PECs an entrepreneur must have these characteristics, too. An entrepreneur must be creative to make new and unique designs that are much better than his/her competitors. He/she must have self-control; he/she must not let his/her weaknesses overcome him/her. Decision-making skills is one of the characteristics, he/she must make the right decision for the right time. He/she must have desire for responsibility, he/she must not choose only things that are easy to get. He/she must also have high energy level meaning that he/she had the willingness and the energy to work for his/her business’ success. He/she must have courage to face problems that he/she might encounter in his/her business. He/she must have well-defined values for him to be respected also by people and to have more customers. He/she must have desire for immediate feedback for him to know what services or products does he/she needs to improve in order to make his/her customers satisfied. He/she must also have strong desire to achieve meaning that he/she starts out working on these goals with a strong motivation to achieve them all.

A successful entrepreneur obtains these characteristics to make his/her business more satisfying for his/her customers.

NCSHS Summer Enrichment Class 2010

NCSHS Summer Enrichment Class 2010

My first day in Naga City Science High School was fun with my old classmates. I also met a new friend, her name was Claire. She is the one who started a conversation with me. I also met other friends but only a few, my classmate last year, Anna have also met new friends. I only met few friends because I am shy to my new classmates; I met Claire because she started a conversation with me. I like to be friends with my other classmates but I am embarrassed to start a conversation with them, because I don’t know what to tell them so I only have three friends at our section, I also have other friends from other sections because they are my classmates last year. I want to have other friends, but that depends on me.

My teachers are all good and nice. They are teaching us well. I know that Naga City Science High School is a good school and I also need to study hard so that I can pass every quarter and get high grades. Our teachers this summer are giving us nice lessons and good activities. They are kind.
